Booking an Enlarger – What You Need to Know

If you're not a member of Lakeside Darkroom but would like to book an enlarger for a single day or short visit, you're very welcome to do so — but please read the following carefully before booking.

No refunds

Please note that we do not offer refunds on any bookings, including one-off enlarger sessions. This policy applies to all users, whether you're a member or a first-time visitor. Our refund policy is clearly stated across our communications and booking platform.

Prior darkroom experience required

To book an enlarger, you must already have experience working independently in a black and white darkroom. If you are unfamiliar with our space or darkroom processes, we kindly ask that you book an Intro Session (induction) before making any enlarger bookings.

Intro Sessions (Induction) are designed to show you how our darkroom works, ensure you feel confident using the space, and maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

Already had an intro?

If you've completed an Intro Session (induction) with us before, you're welcome to book an enlarger directly without needing to attend again. You do not need to become a member in order to book.

Membership Terms & Responsibility

At Lakeside Darkroom, memberships are fully managed by our members. This means:

We do not monitor or manage individual memberships

We cannot cancel or pause memberships on behalf of members

All memberships renew automatically through our website platform unless cancelled by the member

You’re in control

As a member, you are entirely in charge of your own account. If you no longer wish to continue, you must cancel your membership via your online account before your next billing date. Cancelling simply stops the next payment – your current membership remains active for the full period you’ve paid for.

For example:

If your Unlimited Membership renews on the 1st of the month and you cancel on the 3rd, you’ll still have full access until the end of that month. No time is lost — and no further payments will be taken.

No refunds

Please note that we do not offer refunds for memberships, workshops, or bookings under any circumstances. As a small Community Interest Company (CIC), we operate with limited financial capacity and are committed to remaining accessible and affordable. Our refund policy is clearly stated at sign-up and in all communications.
